Emma’s current role is that of a manager as well as a nurse and she is very adaptable. Her team leader roles includes the management of staff and regular auditing. Emma has experience of working on a ward, in the community in both the field of Health Visiting and District Nursing. She manages her own business which offers day care support to adults with learning disabilities on a rural working farm.
Before qualifying as a nurse, she worked for a voluntary organisation meeting the needs of children and young adults who had complex learning difficulties. These clients were cared for in their own homes and this included a respite service for their carers. Emma helped set up a Saturday drop in for parents who needed respite while they did completed errands such as shopping, appointments etc.
